Painting his emotions beautifully across the keys, “golden hour” by JVKE (real name: Jake Lawson) quickly caught the attention of hopeless romantics. However, the emotion behind such an instrumental composition came from much more than what he wrote on the page. With his deep roots in music, paired with the support of those who have been in his life longer than anyone else, the story behind “golden hour” is as genuine as they come.
Growing up learning piano, there was one person who Jake insisted hear the song live before anyone else. Immediately connecting with an audience, Jake shared the intimate reveal of his song to his childhood piano teacher whom was immediately brought to tears. Going viral, currently “golden hour” has been used across over 10,000 TikTok clips and even debuted with 7 million U.S. streams upon its formal release. Pairing his instrumental talent with the production skills between himself and his brother, Zac Lawson, this release has been the perfect example of a young, do-it-yourself musician.
“golden hour” is set to appear as Track 3 on his upcoming debut album entitled, “this is what ____ feels like” releasing September 23.
