BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez Ended the Summer on a Sweet Note With "Ice Cream"

K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez teamed up to end the summer with the release of their collaboration project "Ice Cream." The highly anticipated single was the second to drop from BLACKPINK's upcoming album BLACKPINK: THE ALBUM following the release of "How You Like That" in late July.

The lyrics are flirty with a touch of sass - it compares their sweetness to ice cream. "I know that my heart can be so cold / but I'm sweet for you, put me in a cone," Selena sings in the second verse. Their sentiment is that though their appearance is cold, it's worth their sweetness on the inside. The catchy tune shows off all of their vocal ranges perfectly, and the melody is an ear-worm that you won't mind getting stuck in your head.

The collaboration was rumored for a while before their announcement about a week before the release. They teased fans with promo posters and videos of the artists video-calling, as the worldwide pandemic did not allow them to meet in person. The music video was filmed from separate locations as well. BLACKPINK's album is set for release on October 2, but for now you can stream "Ice Cream" everywhere now.
