Flea of Red Hot Chilli Peppers fame is set to release his first ever studio album as a solo artist. He rocked the stages in the 90s with his unique style of bass playing, eccentric outfits and vibrant dyed hair. But this album seems like a massive departure from the loud, bombastic style that he has built over the years with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Flea started out with a jazz background actually playing trumpet of all instruments before picking up the bass. He loved jazz and looked up to jazz musicians. But bass is what would give him his stratum in the music industry. He would go on to form the Red Hot Chilli Peppers back in 1983 alongside vocalist Anthony Kiedis. From there, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers changed the music industry forever and are rock and roll legends.
Back in 2012, Flea would experiment with a solo career when he dropped his first ever EP under his famous nickname, "Flea". The EP that he released was called, "Helen Burns". This EP went back to Flea's roots as a jazz musician with a mix of jazz fusion thrown into this first EP. He would inconsistently release singles from 2012 all the way up to today.
This album seems like it will be more or less of the same as his previous solo works as it is more avant garde and very jazz heavy. One of the teaser songs that he released has Thom Yorke of Radiohead fame on it. It feels super experimental and free feeling like Flea was given the reigns to do whatever he wanted. This album will definitely be a massive departure from his works with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. But fans eagerly await Flea releasing his first ever studio album.
