From the moment Jack Tidwell played his first chord on a guitar he knew that songwriting would be an essential part of his future. By the time he finished junior high school, he’d written his first tune.
At fifteen, while living in rural southern Oklahoma, Tidwell began performing live with bluegrass bands at festivals, private events, and at church. After moving to Stillwater, OK in 2013, Tidwell began experiencing the vibrant, local “Red Dirt” music scene. There, he was able to first exhibit his original material in front of live audiences. Tidwell quickly began making connections with a growing number of fans, musicians, and fellow singer/songwriters. From there, the demand for his original music grew and he began performing regularly at private parties and popular music venues like “Willies Saloon” and “Great White Buffalo” in Stillwater.
In 2017, Tidwell moved from Stillwater, OK to Decatur, Texas. He also formed the band Wildhorse Revenant with fellow bandmates from his hometown of Marlow, Oklahoma. In 2019, Tidwell went on the road as tour manager for the Chance Anderson Band. There he learned the ropes of life on the road and found further encouragement to develop his own music.
In January of 2020, Wildhorse Revenant began touring too, playing shows around Oklahoma and Texas to support the release of their debut album entitled “Star 46”. The collection of 10 songs includes some of Tidwell’s earliest original songwriting and a few co-writes. Since the dissolution of Wildhorse Revenant in late 2020, Tidwell has turned his full attention to a solo career. “I Am An Outlaw” is Jack Tidwell’s debut solo recording, an original song produced by Chad Mauldin and released in February 2021.
