The 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards

On Monday, March 27th, 2023 the iHeartRadio Music Awards were held in Los Angeles, California at the Dolby Theater. The world renowned award show was founded in 2014 and was made to recognize the most well known artist and music genres over the last year. Artist like Adele, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, and The Weekend, just to name a few, have been winners in major categories at the famous, Fox broadcast, award show.

The 2023 awards was hosted by singer-songwriter and actor Lenny Kravitz. Kravitz wore multiple hats that night as he also took to the stage as a performer. He performed a melody of hits including “American Woman,” “Fly Away,” and “Are You Gonna Go My Way.” He gave every viewer an electrifying performance in an all black leather, skin tight suit. He left his heart out of the stage after bringing back his most well know hits.

Grammy-award winner, P!NK, was the star of the 9th iHeartRadio Music Awards. To open up the show, P!NK encapsulated the stage and all of the viewers as she performed her charting song “TRUSTFALL.” She was surrounded by dancers flying off of trampolines while navigating a large stage structure, adding excitement to every second of her first performance. Before accepting her iHeartRadio Icon Award, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, followed by Kelly Clarkson paid a tribute to P!NK by performing some her most iconic songs. Benatar and Giraldo performed the leading single off of P!NK’s first album, “Just Like A Pill.” Then Kelly Clarkson overtook the stage and performed “Just Give Me A Reason” with P!NK herself. P!NK was presented her award and claimed that she is “grateful to be alive,” in her touching acceptance speech.

SZA also was a big winner that night, taking home two iHeartRadio Music Awards. She took home R&B Song of the Year with her chart topping song “I Hate U.” And later took home the award for R&B Artist of the Year, beating out other nominees like Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak of Silk Sonic and Muni Long.

The success of the iHeartRadio Music Awards is not going anywhere. With millions of eyes watching and trending social media topics, iHeart will continue to improve and succeed as a company with it’s popular award show.
