#1 Billboard Reggae Artist, Joe Samba Gets Personal on "You & Me"

No. 1 Billboard artist, Joe Samba built his name on reggae rock's high-energy blend of island grooves and punk edge. On his new single "You & Me," he slows things down and lets country and Americana influences take the lead — the result of time spent writing in Nashville.

The song is about the unglamorous, chaotic middle of family life, and what it takes to still make room for your partner inside it. 

"You know when your kids are just off the wall? It's so crazy and overstimulating, but then you and your significant other look at each other," says Samba. "You roll your eyes and have a quick chuckle about it. Then go on a date and laugh about it over some wine and cheese. That's what 'You & Me' is about in a nutshell."

It's a fitting next step for an artist who's never stayed still stylistically. Joe first broke out with The Wrong Impression (#1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart), followed by Far From Forever and national tours with Dirty Heads, Ziggy Marley, Pepper, Shwayze, and Sublime with Rome. 

His latest album, Lifeline — featuring Wax, Mihali, JARV, Eric Krasno, and Anthony Beats — leaned into similar themes of fatherhood and self-discovery that "You & Me" continues.
