In Chris Erasmus' latest single titled, "Your Song," he captures the feeling of being completely infatuated with another person. Released on June 19th, "Your Song" appears to center on the idea of being fully immersed in a relationship, both physically and mentally. Through detailed imagery, he explores intense feelings of attraction and the desire to be focused on a person over everything else.

Erasmus has released eleven singles since his debut in 2024, and each one attempts to give the listener something to relate to, and more importantly, something to feel. According to Erasmus's artist bio, his music is for "anyone who values authenticity and storytelling within music." For his most recent release, rather than telling a detailed story, “Your Song” gives brutal authenticity on what it feels like to be completely infatuated with someone. This song allows the listener to reflect on what it is like to be so immersed in a relationship that you forget everything else.

A big part of what makes "Your Song" compelling is its relatability. Erasmus doesn’t spell everything out, which gives listeners room to take their own meaning from it. Some may connect with the idea of living in the moment because of the songs repeating lyrics,

"Lets not waste our tomorrow...

... Lets not waste any time."

Others may be drawn to lyrics such as:

"And I'll fall to pieces if you let me. Drown in your body, your beauty. The way that you move, it completes me. Entwining our way to sunrise"

These lines capture the intensity of being drawn to someone both physically and emotionally, reminding listeners of moments when they felt completely captivated by another person.

While "Your Song" may not tell a traditional story, its strength lies in its honesty. By capturing the excitement and intensity of being completely drawn to another person, Erasmus delivers a track that many listeners will find easy to connect with.
